facial scaring

Scaring - It's hard to deal with and a sensitive issue for many.

Skin is our body's largest organ, and it's first form of defence. After a wound or injury occurs, skin forms new collagen tissues at the site as the natural repair process. These tissues can appear visibly different to the rest of the surrounding skin, a scar.

Moderate to severe acne, can often result in scarring. This can be treated, depending on the type of scar.

THINGS YOU CAN DO TO REDUCE FACIAL SCARING

Prevention is the easiest way to reduce the likelihood of facial scarring. Avoid picking at or popping pimples to minimise spread of the inflammation and further irritating the skin.

However if you already have scarring, there are a number of targeted treatments that can help reduce their appearance and improve the texture of your skin.

Microneedling

This treatment helps to improve texture, lines and wrinkles, scarring and skin tightness, by encouraging production of new collagen. A tailored treatment plan will be recommended following consultation.  Learn more about Microneedling by clicking here.
