Anti-wrinkle injections work to prevent the formation of static wrinkles by stopping the signal between the nerve & muscle, & the resultant skin contraction. This treatment is most effective when used as a preventative measure. Areas commonly treated are frown or worry lines, laugh lines around the eyes, & horizontal lines on the forehead. Dysport® may also be effective for conditions such as hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating) teeth grinding & migraines.

What happens at the appointment?

At your initial appointment we will take your medical history, and consult with you what you are trying to achieve and the possible side efects of the treatment. Our qualified nurse will inject the targeted area with the necessary quantity to achieve your desired result quickly and safely. The procedure takes about 15- 20 minutes. No skin numbing is required.

How does it work?

Facial expressions are produced by the movement of muscles underneath the skin. These repeated muscle contractions lead to wrinkles and 'grooves' forming in the skin. With aging the skins collagen and elastin production slows down and these lines become more pronounced. Anti-wrinkle injections prevent the muscles from moving and soften the lines.

When will I see results and how long do they last?

You can expect to see gradual results from the third day after the procedure, and generally last up to three or four months.

Does it hurt?

Very small fine needles are used for a very quick injection so the treatment hardly hurts at all. You'll likely feel a pinprick, which might cause a small amount of discomfort.

Are There Side Effects?

You may experience some minor side effects such as bruising or a minor headache, which is normal, but these are easily alleviated with your normal pain relief medication. You may also experience slight redness, which generally goes away within 15-20 minutes. Some, but not all clients experience either of these.
